Competitions

 

The Exmoor Trust sponsors a Hedge Laying Competition each spring.  This competition, to foster traditional hedge laying
skills, is run by the Exmoor National Park in partnership with the Devon and Somerset Hedge Groups. 

 

2015 Results

Ist Prize: Ricky Atkins for a hedge laid at Wellshead Farm, Exford

2nd Prize:  John and Julie Petherick for a hedge laid at their farm: Higher Heale Farm near Parracombe

3rd Prize:  Martyn Sloley for a hedge laid at Maurice Scott's Brendon Hill Farm near Watchet.

1st Prize: Chris Dapling for a hedge laid at Slattenslade Farm (May Brothers)

2nd Prize: Martyn Sloley for a hedge laid at Higher Foxhanger Farm, Brompton Ralph  (Mrs Mary Stacey)

3rd Prize: John Atkins for a hedge laid at Higher Spire, Winsford (Mr and Mrs Sharpe)

Novice awards: Peter Moss (hedge laid on his land at Roadwater) and Dulverton Middle School students (hedge at Dulverton Middle School).
